There are many fantastic Photography Exhibitions occurring in London currently. Myself and a few pals, therefore took the opportunity to venture into the cosmopolitan world of beautiful buildings, town houses and aggressive drivers.
I went to three small exhibitions. All of which i'd never been to before. Alongside my terrible sense of direction and the pouring rain it was therefore quite the challenge to find these photography hideouts. Nonetheless, we eventually arrived and by the time I had stepped out those tall glass doors, I was buzzing with inspiration.
(Apologies for the photos. I decided to give my little shoulder a break from carrying around my heavy camera. Plus my iPhone was feeling neglected.)
1. Corrine Day
May the circle remain unbroken
Gimpel Fils
'This exhibition shows the people that Corinne's work brought together and the friendships that formed over 20 years ago and continue to endure three years after her passing.'
This exhibition gave me goosebumps. I think this was purely because of the emotion in the photographs, that were previously unseen pieces of her early work. I love her grunge style and I believe so many artists that follow this style will always remember her early work, to aspire to.

2. Richard Avedon
Women
Gagosion Gallery
'I have worked of out a series of nos. No to exquisite light, no to apparent compositions, no to the seduction of poses and narrative. And all these nos forced me to a 'yes'. I have a white background, I have the person i'm interested in, and the thing that happens between us.' - Richard Avedon
This exhibition was spectacular. I have always thought that images taken before 1990 would never be my thing. Oh boy I was wrong. The glamour and fashion that we see today in 'Vogue' or similar was staring me in the face...and it was made in the 70s. I loved how the black and white complimented the figures.

3. PUNK by Nick Knight
Showstudio
I have never been to an exhibition that was of numerous artists, picked out by one artist. Frankly, I loved this idea. Not to mention the artist was NICK KNIGHT... I more than loved this idea. The ShowStudio was filled with prints, sketchbooks, artists props and creations and books to purchase. Heaven.
I did manage to fall in love with an artist called 'Judy Blame'. He is a stylist, jeweller, designer and art director. Again, not usually the type of artist I would spot first at a 'photography' exhibition. I was glued to his sketchbooks for a good half hour and wanted to take them home with me. Sad times.
After a casual trip to Wagamama's to eat and ring our clothes out we stumbled across this bit of fine ass. If you hadn't already guessed I'm Rankin's biggest fan and have to admit I did have a bit of a 'fangirl' moment when this jumped out at us.
Have you been to any exhibitions recently?
